As an endowed charity who promote the healthy emotional and physical development of very early years children, Cattanach needed a new grant management system that made their funding application process as straightforward as possible.
The first step in our design process was to create a user interface that was suitable for all platforms, but especially for mobile use.
We created a clickable, interactive prototype to show how users will move through the system, before piecing together a plan for the application.
Through our Umbraco 8 configuration, we then turned the prototype into a real application that can be used across all devices.
In the build section, we put the bones of the platform together. We created the global elements, registration functionality and a whole host of other elements such as forms, settings, and templates.
Our starting point for the development work was to ensure that the database architecture was developed correctly, contributing to a positive effect on database performance, as well as providing the ability to scale up.
We carried out user testing from the perspective of all user types to make sure each type had the necessary functionality, whilst also allowing us to us to discover any bugs that needed fixed.
Our first migration task was to carry out data mapping to ensure the fields on our new system matched with Cattanch's old platform.
Once we had the correct fields in place, we were able to migrate the data across to the new platform, avoiding any errors.
