Having worked with Black Isle Brewing Company previously, we were delighted they approached us again to create a fresh new brand design alongside the delivery of a new e-commerce platform that was simple to use for both customers and website administrators.
As part of the creative brief process, we worked with Black Isle to really draw out the brand and ethos of the business. As part of these, we discovered what brands they felt had similar values to them and were able to use this to shape our design process.
We adopted a mobile-first approach to creating a frictionless online shopping experience for Black Isle customers.
The design is underpinned by a modern yet 'earthy' aesthetic that reflects the ethical and planet conscious philosophy of Black Isle.
To meet the earthy aesthetic that Black Isle was looking for, we went for neutral tones and these mixed perfectly with the punchier pieces of product artwork.
The new site was built using our Umbraco 8 framework, allowing Black Isle Brewery Company to create unlimited pages, customisable tables and a whole host of other features.
We integrated the site with the Vendr e-commerce system - which allowed us to create unlimited payment methods as well as create custom payment providers.
We used Stripe for the payment gateway, which enables the user to stay on the site when making a payment, instead of being redirected to another site.
